Duke Energy - Catawba

Catawba Nuclear Station is a two-unit power plant located beside Lake Wylie in York, South Carolina. Catawba is one of three nuclear stations designed, built and operated by Duke Energy. Each of the Catawba units utilizes pressurized water reactors with a turbine generator output of 1,129 megawatts. Catawba Unit 1 began commercial operation in 1985 and Unit 2 in 1986.

Program Highlights:

 There was another program that was very close to the Duke program however the successful 3rd party  benchmarking report with clear suggestions for future improvements propelled them to the winners circle.   Management visibility and high level business metrics tied to the program results also had a direct influence on our decision.
